Sherlock was one of those 1992 MS-DOS releases from Imagexcel that felt right at home on a floppy disk. It came out during a time when adventure games were heavy on text and light on hand holding, asking players to really observe and think. You didn't get many visual hints; the screen was your crime scene, and you had to be the detective.

You control Sherlock Holmes himself, moving from location to location in London, gathering evidence and interrogating suspects. The main goal is to solve a case by finding the correct culprit, but it hinges on noticing small details: a specific type of mud on a boot, a discrepancy in someone's story, an object out of place. You type commands to examine things and talk to people, and the game doesn't forgive oversights; if you miss a clue early on, you might hit a dead end much later. It feels like doing actual detective work, where your focus and patience directly shape your success.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
