Shin Sangoku Musou 6 Special (or Dynasty Warriors 7 Special if you prefer) is basically the PSP version of the console chaos you already love—just scaled down a bit. You’re still mowing down hundreds of soldiers in those ridiculous, screen-filling combos, but now it fits in your pocket. The story mode’s beefed up from earlier versions, so you actually get some decent cutscenes between all the hacking and slashing.

What surprised me was how well they crammed the massive battles onto the PSP. Sure, the draw distance isn’t perfect, but running through crowds as Lu Bu still feels stupidly satisfying. The character roster’s solid too—plenty of classic warriors to unlock, though I always end up maining Zhao Yun anyway. If you’ve played a Dynasty Warriors game before, you know exactly what you’re getting here: mindless, cathartic fun with a historical twist.

Just don’t expect it to reinvent the wheel—it’s Dynasty Warriors, but portable.
