Game Overview

Side Arms Hyper Dyne came out in 1986 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Capcom. It was a time when side-scrolling shooters were common, and this one fit right in with its straightforward, action-heavy approach. The game didn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it offered a solid dose of what arcade fans expected back then.

You control a small, heavily armed robot suit, moving from left to right across each stage. Your main goal is to survive the onslaught of enemy machines and bosses, clearing each screen of threats before advancing. The key mechanics include switching your weapon's firing direction with a button press, allowing you to shoot behind or above as needed, and collecting power-ups that upgrade your firepower into wider, more destructive spreads. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding quick reflexes and smart positioning. It feels hectic and satisfying when you manage to weave through bullet patterns while dishing out serious firepower.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
