Game Overview

So Soccer Kid is this weirdly charming Amiga platformer where aliens try to swipe the World Cup, crash their ship, and now the trophy’s in pieces all over the place. You play as this little soccer player who has to jump, kick, and header his way through five countries to get it back—Britain, Italy, Russia, Japan, and finally the U.S. The twist? Your main weapon is a soccer ball. Like, you’re bouncing it off enemies’ heads, juggling it mid-air, and pulling off bicycle kicks like some tiny football ninja.

It’s not just running and jumping, though—you’ve got to collect 11 Player Cards in each country to unlock the next piece of the Cup. The controls take a second to get used to (those overhead kicks don’t come easy), but once it clicks, it’s weirdly satisfying to knock out a robot with a perfectly timed volley. Just don’t expect quicksaves—you can only save after finishing a whole country, so no bailing mid-level when things get rough.

Honestly, it’s one of those games that shouldn’t work but somehow does. The soccer-meets-platforming gimmick actually holds up, and the pixel art’s got this goofy energy to it. If you ever wanted to see a kid in cleats take on the Kremlin, this is your game.
