So, Sonic Wings Special is this wild, over-the-top shoot-'em-up where you pick a pilot—some are goofy, some are borderline ridiculous—and blast through waves of enemies trying to stop an evil organization from wiping out most of humanity. The Saturn version’s packed with way more content than the arcade original, like new characters, branching stages, and endings that range from heroic to just plain weird.

You’ve got 14 pilots to choose from, each with their own little quirks and plane types. I remember picking the samurai dude first because, well, samurai in a fighter jet—how could I not? The levels shift depending on your route, so replaying actually feels fresh instead of just grinding the same path. And yeah, the graphics got a nice polish for the console release, though it still has that classic, slightly chaotic arcade vibe.

Fair warning: the Android version’s pretty stripped down compared to the Saturn one—only four characters and a handful of stages. But if you’re into fast, no-nonsense shooters with a silly streak, it’s a solid pick for quick bursts of mayhem.
