Stormlord came out in 1989 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Hewson Consultants. It was a time when platformers were pushing into more complex territory, and this game fit right into that experimental phase on the PC.
You control the Stormlord, a winged warrior tasked with freeing a legion of enchanted fairies. The game plays out screen by screen; you jump across platforms, toss throwing stars at enemies, and use a falcon to warp to new areas. The main goal is to explore each level thoroughly to find and break the crystals imprisoning the fairies. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is steep, demanding precise jumps and careful enemy timing. It feels like a tense, methodical rescue mission where every screen cleared is a small victory.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
