Game Overview

Street Fighter II New Moves Edition Japan came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992, developed and published by Capcom. It was one of the many updated versions of the game that appeared during the console's early years, a time when home ports were still trying to catch up to the arcade experience.

You control one of the original eight World Warriors, like Ryu or Chun-Li, and your goal is to defeat all the other fighters in one-on-one matches to become the world champion. The signature mechanics are executing special moves with precise joystick motions and button presses, blocking high and low attacks to defend yourself, and building a super meter by dealing or receiving damage to unleash more powerful attacks. The pacing is fast, and the computer opponents are notoriously cheap, especially at higher difficulty levels. It feels like rediscovering a game you thought you knew, only to find it has new ways to surprise you.
