Game Overview
Strider II on the Master System is one of those weird licensed sequels that feels totally different from the original—Capcom let U.S. Gold handle this one, and it shows. You still play as Hiryu slashing through enemies with that iconic plasma sword, but the levels are shorter, the graphics chunkier, and the whole thing has this odd European arcade vibe. The first stage throws you into a jungle with these weirdly stiff panther enemies, and yeah, the controls take some getting used to. Not terrible, just... different. If you're a Strider fan, it's interesting to see how another studio interpreted the series. Just don't expect the same fluid ninja action as the arcade original.
