Super Turrican (E) on NES is one of those games that feels familiar but still throws some surprises at you. But then you realize holding fire makes you sprint, and suddenly the pacing changes.

The weapons are simple but satisfying—spreadshot for crowds, laser for precision, and rebound for tricky angles. The rotatable laser is weirdly fun, especially when you use it to poke around for secrets. Some levels feel lifted straight from the older Turrican games, just tweaked a bit, while others are completely new.

No time limits and unlimited energy wheel usage make it less punishing than you'd expect, though the shield still crumbles after enough hits. Super Turrican (E) isn't a perfect port, but it's got enough of its own flavor to stand out.
