Super Turrican on SNES is basically the Amiga classic but beefed up—better graphics, tighter controls, and this weirdly awesome Dolby Surround thing that makes explosions rumble behind you. At first it feels like a typical run-and-gun, but then you get the grappling hook and suddenly you're swinging over lava pits like some kind of sci-fi Tarzan.
The weapon switching takes a second to get used to—hold the button to cycle through lasers, spread shots, even this ridiculous flamethrower that melts bosses way too fast. And yeah, the music slaps. That SNES sound chip turns what should be generic action tunes into something that sticks in your head for days.
It’s short, but good luck finishing it without sweating through at least a few continues. Those later levels don’t play fair.
