Syndicate came out on the Amiga in 1993 from Bullfrog Productions. You control a squad of four agents, each a cyborg you can upgrade with implants and better weapons. Your main goal is to complete missions handed down from your corporate overlords, which usually involve assassinating a target, stealing tech, or persuading civilians to join your cause. The signature mechanics include using the Persuadertron to convert enemies and bystanders into temporary allies, and navigating complex urban maps full of civilians, police, and rival agents. The pacing is deliberate and often tense, as you carefully position your team, manage your limited ammunition, and react to sudden firefights. It feels like conducting a violent, chaotic orchestra from a safe distance, where every successful extraction brings a real sense of relief.
