Game Overview

Syndicate on the Amiga is one of those games that sticks with you—mostly because of how brutal it is. You control a squad of cybernetically enhanced agents in a dystopian future, taking on missions that usually involve a lot of guns, explosions, and morally questionable decisions. The first disk sets the tone: you’re dropped into a grimy cityscape with minimal hand-holding, figuring out how to bribe officials, upgrade your team, and occasionally mow down civilians because, well, they got in the way.

The isometric view makes everything feel cramped and tense, and the sound design—those digitized screams and gunshots—still gives me chills. Early on, you’ll probably lose a few agents to bad positioning or an unlucky grenade toss, but that’s part of the charm. It’s unforgiving, but when a plan comes together and your squad wipes out an enemy stronghold without casualties, it feels like a small miracle.

Just don’t get too attached to anyone. They rarely last long.
