Game Overview

Syndicate Wars came out in 1996 for MS-DOS, published by Electronic Arts. It was part of that wave of isometric tactical games that really pushed what PCs could do at the time, with detailed sprites and a gritty cyberpunk setting that felt fresh compared to the fantasy and sci-fi staples.

You control a squad of four cybernetically enhanced agents, moving them through city streets to complete missions for one of two rival corporations. Your main goal is to dominate territory by destroying enemy infrastructure and eliminating opposition. Key mechanics include researching and equipping new weapons and cybernetic implants, persuading or terrorizing civilians to join your cause, and using the environment strategically, like blowing up buildings to block paths or crush foes. The pacing is aggressive; you're almost always outnumbered, and the difficulty demands careful positioning and quick use of your tools. It feels like conducting a brutal, calculated symphony of destruction where every move matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
