Play Syndicate (Japan) Online

You pick cyberpunk mercs with mind-control tech, then watch everything go sideways as they bumble through grid-based shootouts—cars crush your squad, grenades backfire, and civilians panic. The isometric view feels clunky at first, but soon you're laughing at the chaos.

Game Overview

Syndicate on SNES is one of those games that feels way ahead of its time—you're basically running a cyberpunk corporate hit squad in a world where money buys everything, including people. You start by picking your agents (I always went for the ones with maxed-out Persuadertrons because mind control is hilarious) and then drop them into these grimy futuristic cities full of civilians just trying not to get caught in the crossfire.

The controls take some getting used to—it's all grid-based movement with this weird isometric view—but once it clicks, you're orchestrating these chaotic firefights where half your squad might get flattened by a rogue car or blown up by their own grenades. The missions start simple (kidnap this scientist, assassinate that CEO) but quickly spiral into full-blown urban warfare. And yeah, the AI is janky as hell—your guys will sometimes just stand there getting shot—but that somehow adds to the charm.

It's brutal, messy, and surprisingly deep for a 16-bit game. You'll either love it or throw your controller at the wall by mission three.
