Play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Manhattan Missions Online

Pick your turtle and fight through Manhattan with clunky-but-satisfying combat—time your blocks right or those Foot ninjas will stomp you. The art’s this weird mix of gritty comics and bright cartoon nonsense, and honestly, it works.

Game Overview

Manhattan Missions is this weird, kinda janky but totally charming TMNT game from the DOS era that feels like Prince of Persia if you swapped the scimitar for nunchucks. You pick your turtle (Leo’s my go-to, but Raph’s faster attacks have their moments), and the controls take some getting used to – hold enter to swing your weapon, space to block in different directions. Mess up the timing and those Foot Clan goons will wreck you.

What’s cool is how it mixes up the TMNT lore. The art style leans into the grittier Mirage comics, with Shredder in his red armor and these creepy blank-eyed Foot ninjas everywhere. But then Bebop and Rocksteady show up looking like they walked straight out of the ‘87 cartoon, which is hilarious. April’s outfit is cartoon yellow, but her face is totally modeled after the live-action movies. It’s like someone threw all the TMNT versions into a blender.

Casey Jones shows up way earlier than he should, which I’m not complaining about – dude just starts smashing heads with the turtles right from the first level. No blood or anything, but there’s this weird tension where you can tell the developers wanted it to feel more mature than the kiddie stuff. Those Triceraton levels still give me nightmares.

It’s clunky by today’s standards, but there’s something about the vibe that makes it worth revisiting if you’re into retro TMNT weirdness.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
