Game Overview

So Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters on NES is basically the Turtles' take on Street Fighter—you pick a character and duke it out one-on-one. Yeah, you've got the usual suspects like Leo and Raph, but Shredder and Casey Jones are playable too (Hothead's kind of the odd one out, but hey, he throws fireballs).

Weirdly, the turtles don't even use their weapons here—just fists, kicks, and some surprisingly decent special moves. The fireball mechanic's kinda fun though—you've gotta grab these random power-ups mid-fight to pull it off, which adds a little chaos to the matches.

There's a story mode (Turtles only, naturally), versus mode for couch battles, and a 4-player tournament if you've got enough controllers and friends. It's janky in that classic NES fighting game way, but if you grew up with these characters, it's a fun nostalgia trip.
