Game Overview
Tekken: Dark Resurrection on PSP is basically Tekken 5 but juiced up with extra characters, moves, and some surprisingly deep customization. I remember booting it up and immediately noticing the stages looked different—same locations but at night or sunset, with little details like fireworks going off in the background. You can still unlock the original versions if you prefer them, though.
Armor King and Panda finally got their own proper movesets instead of being palette swaps, and there are two brand-new fighters to figure out. The customization goes way deeper now too—you can mix and match gear on individual body parts, and your character’s aura even changes color based on rank. Felt like I spent way too much time dressing up my fighters instead of actually getting good.
Beyond the usual arcade and versus modes, there’s this weirdly addictive bowling minigame (yes, really), a dojo mode for unlocking most of the extras, and a gold rush thing if you’re short on in-game cash. But the coolest addition is ghost mode—record your fights and upload them so others can battle your AI ghost. Nothing like getting wrecked by your own playstyle later.
It’s still very much Tekken, just with more ways to lose hours tweaking fighters or getting demolished online.
