Game Overview

Terminator 2: Judgment Day came out on the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by LJN. It was one of many movie tie-ins from that era, a time when the SNES was full of games trying to capture the feel of a blockbuster film. You could usually tell which ones were rushed, but this one had its moments.

You play as the T-800, moving through side-scrolling levels to protect John Connor. The main goal is to stop Skynet by destroying its components, which involves shooting a lot of enemy machines and human soldiers. You have a machine gun that can overheat if fired too long, forcing you to manage your bursts. Later, you get a limited supply of grenade launcher rounds, making you choose your shots carefully. The game is fairly difficult, with relentless enemies and some unforgiving platforming sections. It feels like a constant, tense battle against overwhelming odds.
