Play Terminator, The Online
Battle through urban levels as Kyle Reese or the T-800, shoot enemies, grab power-ups, and try to survive relentless waves in this 1993 SNES action game.
Terminator on the Super Nintendo came out in 1993, published by Mindscape. It was one of many action games on the system trying to capture the feel of a movie, with varying degrees of success. You could tell developers were still figuring out how to translate big action scenes into side-scrolling levels.
You play as either Kyle Reese or the T-800, moving through a linear series of urban stages. Your goal is to survive enemy waves and reach the end of each level, shooting police and HK units along the way. The game uses a screen-by-screen progression system; you clear one area of enemies before advancing to the next. You can find weapon power-ups, like the shotgun or plasma rifle, and occasionally jump on a motorcycle for short driving sections. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is high, with enemies swarming from both sides constantly. It feels like a tense, exhausting fight for survival where every checkpoint matters.
