The Bard’s Tale II: The Destiny Knight is a classic fantasy RPG and the sequel to Tales of the Unknown, continuing the story after the defeat of Mangar the Dark. When the Archmage Lagoth Zanta shatters the Destiny Wand—a relic that has safeguarded the realm for centuries—the heroes must recover its seven scattered pieces to restore order and confront the new threat. The game expands on its predecessor with a larger world, featuring six towns, an expansive overworld, and dungeons filled with intricate traps and puzzles.

Players assemble a party of up to seven characters, choosing from diverse races like humans, elves, dwarves, and even half-orcs, while recruiting monsters to aid in turn-based battles. The game retains the series’ signature first-person exploration and deep RPG mechanics, including guild storage and banking—though the casino gambling feature was cut from the PC release.
