Game Overview

The Goonies (1985) is a classic action-adventure game based on the beloved film of the same name. Players take on the role of Mikey, a determined kid with asthma, as he navigates six treacherous levels to uncover One-Eyed Willie’s lost treasure and save his friends’ homes from foreclosure. Each stage requires collecting three keys—found behind doors blasted open with enemy-dropped bombs—while rescuing fellow Goonies and grabbing power-ups. Along the way, Mikey battles rats, skeletons, and the dangerous Fratelli gang using his slingshot or well-timed kicks, with bonus points awarded for collecting diamonds and defeating foes.

Originally released for MS-DOS and later Japan-exclusive on Famicom, the game captures the movie’s adventurous spirit with its puzzle-like exploration and frantic action. While simpler than its sequel, it remains a nostalgic tribute to the film, challenging players to think strategically under time pressure. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
