Game Overview

I remember playing Tom and Jerry on MS-DOS back in the day. It came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Hi-Tech Expressions. It was one of those early platformers that tried to capture the spirit of the cartoons, fitting right in with the simple, colorful games of that era.

You can choose to play as either Tom or Jerry, each with their own set of levels. As Jerry, you run through the house collecting cheese pieces while avoiding Tom, who chases you relentlessly. Tom’s levels are more about setting traps, like placing mousetraps or dropping anvils, to catch Jerry. The screen-by-screen exploration is straightforward, but the timing is tight, and the controls can feel a bit slippery, which adds to the challenge. It really feels like you’re part of a frantic, slapstick chase.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
