Game Overview
Treasures of the Savage Frontier is a classic SSI Gold Box RPG and the direct sequel to Gateway to the Savage Frontier, continuing the adventures of the "Heroes of Ascore" in Dungeons & Dragons' Forgotten Realms. After driving the Zhentarim from the dwarven city of Llorkh, your party is tasked with protecting ambassadors of the Lord’s Alliance—only to be framed for their kidnapping. The story unfolds as you unravel a conspiracy involving the Zhentarim, the Kraken Society, and the Hosttower of the Arcane, all scheming to destabilize the Savage Frontier.Built on SSI’s signature Gold Box engine, the game blends first-person exploration with tactical, turn-based combat viewed from an isometric perspective. Players can import characters from the previous game and manage their party’s movement, positioning, and spells in grid-based battles. New features like dynamic weather add depth to exploration, while streamlined copy protection removes the hassle of earlier titles. With its mix of strategic combat, rich storytelling, and classic D&D mechanics, Treasures of the Savage Frontier remains a standout entry in the Gold Box series.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
