Game Overview

Tsuppari Wars came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed by Jaleco. It was part of that wave of quirky, often multiplayer focused games that filled out the NES library beyond the big name titles.

You control a sumo wrestler, and the goal is to shove your opponent out of the ring or force them to touch the ground with any part of their body besides their feet. The main mechanics involve building up power by mashing buttons, then unleashing a strong shove; timing these pushes against your opponent's moves is everything. The pacing is deliberately slow, building tension until a sudden, powerful attack sends someone flying. It feels like a tense, physical shoving match where one wrong move ends it all.
