Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble! came out on the Nintendo DS in 2005, developed by Capcom. You control Joe, a superhero who jumps and punches through side scrolling levels filled with enemies and environmental puzzles. Your main goal is to rescue your girlfriend Silvia from yet another movie themed villain. The game uses the touchscreen heavily; you draw bridges or spin platforms with the stylus to progress, and you can still activate VFX powers like slow motion to dodge attacks more precisely. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly due to the touch controls. It feels like a frantic, sometimes messy, extension of the console games, where you're managing both traditional action and imprecise screen tapping.
