Game Overview
Vigilante on the Sega Master System is one of those classic beat-em-ups where you just walk left to right punching everything that moves. You play as this no-name tough guy whose girlfriend Maria got snatched by a gang called The Rogues—so naturally, you’re gonna wreck every last one of them.
The streets and junkyards are packed with thugs who just keep pouring in from both sides of the screen. Some take more hits than others, and if they get too close, they’ll grab you—mashing left and right is the only way to break free before they start wailing on you. Your moves are simple but satisfying: punches, kicks, jumps, and this heavy chain you can swing around like a maniac.
Each level ends with a boss that actually makes you think a little—no button-mashing your way through these guys. The timer’s always ticking, so you can’t just stand around waiting for enemies to come at you. Gotta keep pushing forward, even when the screen’s full of dudes in leather jackets.
It’s short, it’s brutal, and it’s got that classic arcade feel where you’ll probably die a lot before figuring out the rhythm. Still, there’s something weirdly satisfying about clearing a path with your fists.
