Game Overview

Wild Life came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Genias. It was one of those early platformers that felt experimental, a product of its time when developers were still figuring out what a side-scrolling action game could be. The graphics were simple, the sound was basic, but it had a strange charm that made it memorable for those who stumbled upon it.

You control a small, blocky character who runs and jumps through a series of single-screen levels, avoiding animals and obstacles. The main goal is simply to survive and reach the exit, but the challenge comes from the unpredictable enemy behavior and environmental hazards. You might be dodging falling coconuts one moment, then suddenly an ostrich charges across the screen. The pacing is erratic, and the difficulty can feel unfair at times, but there's a weird satisfaction in finally clearing a screen that had stumped you for a while. Playing it feels like navigating a chaotic, slightly broken cartoon.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
