Wipeout: The Game came out on Nintendo DS in 2010, developed by Endemol Games. You control a contestant trying to survive a series of outlandish physical challenges, with the main objective being to reach the finish line without falling into the water or getting knocked out. The touch screen is used for balancing on wobbly platforms and timing jumps, while the buttons handle running and ducking under obstacles. The game moves quickly, with each screen presenting a new hazard to overcome, and the difficulty comes from the unpredictable physics and the need for precise, split second inputs. It feels exactly as silly and unpredictable as the show, especially when you wipe out in a ridiculous way right at the end.
