Play Wizardry V - Heart of the Maelstrom on Msdos Online
Roll up six adventurers and pray they survive the first floor—this dungeon’s full of cruel traps, mean monsters, and mazes that’ll leave you scribbling maps on scrap paper. ASCII graphics mean your imagination does most of the work.

Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom came out in 1988 for MS-DOS, developed and published by Sir-Tech. It was part of that era when dungeon crawlers were complex, unforgiving affairs, played out in chunky text-mode graphics with a heavy reliance on player mapping and careful planning. You either loved the challenge or you didn't last an hour.
You control a party of up to six custom characters, delving into a massive, multi-level dungeon to stop a cosmic threat known as the Maelstrom. Gameplay is strictly first-person, screen-by-screen exploration; you navigate twisting corridors, disarm deadly traps, and engage in turn-based combat against a bestiary of clever monsters. The game is notoriously difficult, demanding meticulous resource management and a willingness to lose characters permanently. Success feels like a genuine accomplishment, earned through patience and stubbornness more than quick reflexes.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
