Game Overview

Wondrous Magic came out for the Super Nintendo in 1991, developed by Square. It was part of that early wave of SNES games that really tried to show off what the system could do, with bright colors and a lot of on-screen action. It didn't get the same attention as some of the bigger titles, but it had a certain charm if you were into cooperative fantasy games.

You control a young wizard's apprentice, working alongside your AI-controlled mentor to clear out monster-infested areas. The main goal is to survive screen by screen, defeating all the enemies before you can move on. The combat is real-time; you dodge goblins and cast spells, while your partner fires off his own often chaotic magic. It gets pretty frantic when enemies come from multiple directions, and the difficulty can spike without much warning. Playing it feels like trying to coordinate a messy, magical cleanup with an overly enthusiastic partner.
