Game Overview

X-Men Legends II on PSP is one of those rare superhero games where you actually feel like you're building a team, not just mashing buttons. You start off picking four mutants—I went with Wolverine, Storm, Magneto, and Iceman at first, which was a hilariously unbalanced squad—and then immediately get thrown into chaotic fights where powers actually combo together. Iceman's freeze into Storm's lightning? Chef's kiss.

The cool part is how you slowly unlock new abilities and have to decide whether to specialize or spread out upgrades. I totally botched my first Nightcrawler build by trying to make him both a teleporter and a swordsman. The story's cheesy in that classic X-Men way, with Apocalypse monologuing while you're smashing his minions with Colossus' metal fists. It's got that satisfying RPG grind too—you'll spend way too much time comparing gear stats between missions.

Just don't expect the graphics to hold up. This was early PSP, so everything looks like action figures smashing into each other. But the core gameplay? Still holds up if you love team-based brawlers with actual depth.
