So here’s the deal: Z.H.P. is basically what happens if a Saturday morning superhero show got mashed up with a roguelike dungeon crawler, and it’s way more fun than that sounds. You start as some random guy who gets handed a dying hero’s belt (thanks, truck-kun) and suddenly you’re the Unlosing Ranger, tasked with stopping the ridiculous-but-deadly Darkdeath Evilman. The whole thing has this over-the-top anime vibe where everything’s dramatic but also kind of dumb in the best way.

Gameplay’s a mix of turn-based strategy and classic roguelike tension—you move tile by tile through dungeons, managing your energy (EN) for attacks and movement while enemies chase you down. One wrong step and suddenly you’ve got a whole crowd of baddies on your tail because, oh yeah, killing one alerts nearby enemies with a dramatic "Death Cry." Equipment breaks, stats reset each dungeon (but carry over afterward), and sometimes you’ll just chuck your busted armor at enemies because why not?

What really keeps it interesting is how each dungeon messes with the formula—one minute you’re navigating cannons to launch yourself across gaps, the next you’re in a full-on turn-based RPG boss fight against Darkdeath Evilman himself, complete with cheesy first-person camera angles. It’s chaotic, punishing, and weirdly charming. If you’ve ever wanted to play as a bargain-bin Power Ranger making terrible life choices, this is your game.
