Game Overview

If you grew up watching Zatch Bell! (or Konjiki no Gash Bell!! if you're fancy), this GameCube fighter is basically nostalgia in disc form. The cel-shaded art style nails the anime’s look, and there’s something weirdly satisfying about yelling spell names while your little Mamodo throws down.

You’ve got 15 characters to pick from—some obvious choices like Zatch and Brago, plus a few surprises. Story mode’s the main draw if you care about the plot, but honestly, I just messed around in 2P mode most of the time. Beating up your little brother as Folgore never gets old.

There’s also this weirdly deep Develop Mode where you tweak stats like it’s an RPG, which is cool if you’re into min-maxing your tiny electric boy. And yeah, the card system exists—mostly for unlocking dumb extras, but it’s there if you’re a completionist.

It’s not the most balanced fighter out there, but for a licensed anime game? Way better than it had any right to be.
