Play Zaxxon Online
You guide a blocky shuttle through fortress corridors at a weird angle, dodging walls and blasting enemies while the fuel ticks down—tense, simple, and oddly satisfying.

Game Overview
Zaxxon was one of those arcade games that made you feel like a space pilot before space sims got all fancy. You’re flying this chunky little shuttle through what looks like a fortress from a weird diagonal angle—kinda like peeking over someone’s shoulder while they play with toy spaceships. The whole thing feels tense because you’ve got to dodge walls, avoid fuel drains, and shoot everything that moves without crashing into the scenery.
What’s wild is how different it felt back in ’82. Most games were flat side-scrollers or top-down stuff, but Zaxxon’s isometric view made it feel almost 3D, even if your ship moved on rigid rails. The shadows under enemies? Mind-blowing at the time. Now it’s obviously clunky, but there’s still something satisfying about threading through tight gaps while blasting turrets. Just don’t expect to last long—this thing plays like an arcade cabinet, meaning it wants your quarters.
If you’re into retro games, it’s a neat slice of history with a weird learning curve. The MS-DOS port keeps the spirit, though you’ll miss the arcade joystick twitchiness.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
