Play Zen - Intergalactic Ninja (Europe) Online

You play as a glowing green space ninja sliding around on weird gravity, tossing shurikens at mutant blobs while synth-heavy NES music blares. It’s janky in that late-era NES way where platforms float for no reason and the villain’s name is literally Lord Contaiminous.

Game Overview

Zen - Intergalactic Ninja is one of those weird, late-era NES games that somehow got weirder when it crossed the ocean. You play as Zen, a neon-green alien ninja who looks like he raided a cyberpunk garage sale, jumping between floating platforms and throwing shurikens at mutant sludge monsters. The whole thing feels like someone took a Saturday morning cartoon about eco-terrorism and turned it into a side-scroller—Lord Contaiminous (yes, really) is out to turn Earth into a toxic wasteland, and only your space ninja can stop him.

The controls take some getting used to—Zen slides around like he's on ice sometimes—but once you adjust, there's something oddly satisfying about bouncing between vines and blasting pollution-spewing robots. The music's got that classic NES cheese, all bleeps and bloops that somehow still get stuck in your head. It's not the tightest platformer on the system, but the sheer absurdity of the premise makes it hard to put down once you start.

Also, I will never not laugh at the fact that Zen's home planet is called Baltoon.
