Game Overview

Man, 007: The Stealth Affair is such a weird little time capsule of early '90s adventure games. You start off as Bond (or "John Glames" if you're playing the European version for some reason) clicking through tropical locations trying to track down a stolen stealth plane. The pixel art has that classic Delphine Software look—kinda gritty but charming in its own way.

One minute you're carefully examining hotel rooms for clues, the next you're suddenly thrown into this weird top-down maze section where guards chase you. Oh, and there's this brutal underwater sequence where you're desperately swimming through caves before your oxygen runs out—I died there like five times before figuring out the path.

The story's pure Bond cheese—evil arms dealers, rogue scientists, the whole deal—but the mix of point-and-click puzzles with occasional action bits keeps it interesting. Just don't expect it to hold your hand; some of the solutions are downright cryptic by modern standards. That soundtrack by Jean Baudlot still slaps though.

If you're into retro adventures with janky charm, this one's worth digging up from the DOS vault.
