Game Overview

This GBA cart is basically two Power Rangers games in one—Time Force and Ninja Storm—which already feels like cheating the system in the best way. You start with Time Force, where the sprites are surprisingly detailed for a handheld game, and within minutes you're slashing through enemies with that satisfying "shink" sound effect. Then you switch to Ninja Storm and suddenly you're throwing ninja stars at weird frog monsters while dodging lightning attacks. The controls are simple (mash A to win, basically), but there's something weirdly addictive about how over-the-top everything is.

It's not exactly deep combat, but the sprite work holds up, and the music—oh man, the music—will have you humming those theme songs for days. My only gripe? The screen crunch on the GBA means you'll occasionally get hit by off-screen enemies, which feels unfair. Still, if you ever wanted to pretend your Game Boy was a Morpher, this is the closest you'll get. Just try not to yell "It's morphin' time!" in public.
