7th Dragon on the DS is one of those RPGs that hooks you fast—you start by picking from these wild character classes (samurai, mage, hacker—yes, hacker) and jump straight into a world where dragons are basically wrecking everything. The turn-based combat feels snappy, and I love how you can tweak your party’s skills to pull off ridiculous combos.
What surprised me was how dark the story gets—it’s not all heroic fantasy. You’ll watch cities fall, make brutal choices, and actually feel the weight of fighting an apocalypse. The pixel art’s gorgeous too, especially the dragon designs. If you’re into RPGs with bite, this one’s a hidden gem.
