7th Dragon 2020 takes the dungeon-crawling guild mechanics of the original and drops them into a slick near-future Tokyo. You still build a team from scratch—except now your sword-swinging samurai shares the roster with hackers and gun-toting mercs. The shift in setting actually makes the class system more interesting; nothing like watching a cyber-ninja slice through drones while your support character buffs the party with augmented reality overlays.

Missions feel tighter than the first game, with more urgency thanks to the dystopian vibe. And yeah, you'll still spend way too much time tweaking your squad's loadouts between runs. The PSP's limitations show in some cramped UI, but the art style carries it—those dragon designs are legit terrifying when they fill the screen.

If you liked the first game's mix of strategy and customization but wanted something with a little more edge, this one's worth digging up.
