Game Overview

Okay, so The Addams Family on Game Boy Color is way better than it has any right to be. You start off picking between Gomez, Morticia, or Uncle Fester—each with their own weird little moves—and then you're immediately creeping through this absurdly detailed haunted mansion. The pixel art nails that Addams Family vibe: cobwebs in the corners, portraits with shifting eyes, and these little flickering candles that make the whole thing feel alive.

Gameplay's a mix of platforming and light puzzle-solving—like figuring out how to trigger hidden switches behind moving bookcases or avoiding traps that would make Wile E. Coyote proud. And yeah, you'll smack around some goofy burglars too, because apparently even the Addams family has to deal with home intruders. The whole thing's dripping with that dry, macabre humor—Uncle Fester's attack animation is just him zapping people with his own head. Classic.

Honestly, it's one of those rare licensed games that actually gets the tone right. If you grew up with the movies or cartoons, you'll spot a dozen little references. If not, it's still a solid, weird little platformer with way more charm than most GBC titles. Just don't expect Wednesday to show up—she's probably off torturing Pugsley somewhere.
