Game Overview

Air Force Delta on the Game Boy Color is one of those rare handheld flight games that actually feels good to play. You’ve got a handful of jets to pick from—some are faster but turn like a brick, others handle smoothly but can’t take many hits. The first mission eases you in with some basic targets, but by the third sortie, you’re weaving through missile locks and trying not to crash into the ocean.

It’s arcadey, not a sim—no worrying about fuel or landing gear. Just point your nose at the bad guys and hold down the fire button. The pixelated explosions are weirdly satisfying, and the chiptune engine noises somehow make it feel faster than it actually is. Perfect for bus rides or waiting in line, though good luck explaining to strangers why you’re tilting your Game Boy sideways like a maniac.

If you remember the old After Burner vibes but want something that fits in your pocket, this’ll do the trick. Just don’t expect to unlock an F-22.
