Game Overview
Aleste on the Sega Master System is one of those classic shooters that feels simple at first—just you, a tiny ship, and waves of enemies pouring down the screen. But after a few minutes, you realize how tight the controls are, and those pixel-perfect dodges between bullet patterns start to feel amazing. It’s got that signature Compile style: chunky, colorful sprites and power-ups that actually change how your ship handles (the spread shot’s my favorite).
Fun fact: This was called Power Strike in the West, but the Japanese version’s way more common to find these days. Either way, it’s a solid pick if you’re into old-school shmups with just the right amount of challenge. The music’s got that classic FM synth sound too—kinda cheesy, but it fits perfectly.
