Game Overview

Alien Worlds was a 1990 MS-DOS release from developer Softdisk, a product of its time when shareware titles filled disks with experimental concepts. It didn't aim for blockbuster status, instead offering a straightforward, screen-by-screen shooter experience that felt right at home on a floppy disk.

You pilot a small ship through a series of single-screen arenas, each filled with alien creatures that swarm and split apart when shot. The main objective is simply to survive each wave, clearing the screen of all enemies to progress. Key mechanics include precise dodging in tight spaces and managing enemy fragmentation, where larger foes break into multiple smaller, faster threats. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty escalates quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and spatial awareness. It feels like a tense, chaotic dance set to a backdrop of vibrant colors and driving electronic music.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
