Game Overview

Alligator Hunt is this weirdly fun arcade shooter where you play as a kid on a skateboard blasting alien reptiles—because why not? At first it feels like a standard left-right shooter, but then suddenly you're in space heading straight for the reptiles' home planet, which honestly caught me off guard in the best way.

You control a crosshair while your character auto-skates at the bottom of the screen, which takes a second to get used to. The missile launcher is way more satisfying than the basic laser, but you’ve gotta grab those floating M icons to restock. And if you hit the bonus point icons enough times, they multiply—kinda makes you feel like a high-score genius for a second.

The digitized explosions and cheesy 3D cutscenes give it that classic '90s arcade vibe. Also, the game judges you after each level with a "brutality and efficacy" meter, which is equal parts hilarious and weirdly motivating. Two players can team up, and honestly, it’s way more chaotic (and fun) that way.

If you’ve played Blood Bros., this feels like its weird little cousin who drank too much soda. Totally worth a few rounds.
