Antz Extreme Racing is one of those weird late-to-the-party movie tie-ins—showed up on GBA years after the film, but hey, at least it’s not terrible. You’re racing as those tiny ants from the movie, which sounds ridiculous until you realize they’re basically driving through backyard dirt tracks full of oversized soda caps and pencils. Feels like someone shrunk you down and tossed you into a kid’s messy desk drawer.
The controls are simple (slide turns, turbo boosts), but some of the later tracks get surprisingly brutal with obstacles. Weevil’s my go-to racer—something about that little guy’s acceleration just clicks. Not gonna lie, the novelty wears off after a while, but it’s a solid pick if you’re into quirky racers. Just don’t expect Mario Kart levels of polish.
