Play Antz : Extreme Racing Online

Antz: Extreme Racing on the GBA is basically Mario Kart but with ants—and honestly, it’s way more fun than it has any right to be. You pick from six characters from the movie (I always went with Weaver because she’s got decent speed without being a total nightmare to control), then race through these weirdly creative tracks that twist and zoom like classic Mode 7 SNES games. The first few tracks are straightforward, but later ones get brutal—especially since you have to win every race in the 4 Seasons mode to unlock the final tracks. No second-place trophies here.

Power-ups are everywhere: fireflies that chase down the leader, bubble gum to trap whoever’s behind you, even helmets to block attacks. You’ll also find little green tokens scattered around—collect enough, and you can buy extra items between races. Just watch your health meter (it’s a leaf that shrinks every time you crash). The two-player link cable mode is chaotic in the best way, though good luck finding someone else with a GBA and a copy these days.

It’s not perfect—some of the later tracks feel unfairly hard, and the password save system is annoying—but for a licensed kart racer, it’s got way more personality than you’d expect.
