Arnie 2 came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a straightforward action title from that era of pixel-heavy, keyboard-controlled gaming. It was developed by a team whose name doesn't ring many bells today, but it fit right in with the kind of simple, challenging games we played before 3D acceleration changed everything.
You control a lone commando moving screen by screen through enemy territory, shooting soldiers and avoiding their return fire. Your main goal is to blast through each stage, clearing out foes and surviving long enough to reach the exit. Key mechanics include picking up better weapons dropped by certain enemies and carefully managing your limited ammo for each gun. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming from all sides, and the difficulty is unforgiving, demanding quick reflexes and smart positioning. It feels like a tense, chaotic firefight where every mistake costs you.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
