Game Overview

Bank Heist on the Atari 2600 is this weirdly addictive little chase game where you play as a getaway driver in a vintage car, tearing through maze-like city streets. The goal? Rob banks—which are just these white pillar symbols—before the cops show up. Every bank you hit vanishes, replaced by a police car that takes a second to notice you... then it’s on.

You’ve got dynamite to drop behind you, which helps, but the cops get smarter and faster with each new city. There’s a Pac-Man-style tunnel to warp across the screen, plus an exit road that takes you to the next town. The trick is balancing speed with strategy—rob too many banks too fast, and suddenly you’re swarmed. Run out of gas, and it’s game over.

It’s simple but tense, especially when you’re down to your last drop of fuel and scrambling for one more bank. The pixelated chaos holds up better than you’d expect.
