Baseball Stars Professional is that weird, over-the-top arcade sequel to the NES classic. Instead of boring old MLB teams, you get to pick wild squads like the Shadow Demons or Celestial Planets—which, honestly, makes way more sense when you see the cartoony, exaggerated player animations.
You’ve got two stadiums to play in (both SNK-branded, naturally), and while they look different, they play the same. The actual baseball feels familiar—pitch, swing, run the bases—but everything’s juiced up, from the way fielders dive for impossible catches to the way the ball rockets off the bat. The two-player VS mode is where it really shines, though. Nothing like striking out your friend with a flaming fastball from the Battle Knights’ ace.
It’s not deep, but it’s loud, fast, and just the right amount of ridiculous.
