Game Overview

Battle of Giants: Dinosaurs on the DS is basically what happens when you take Jurassic Park and mix it with a fighting game. You pick a dinosaur—T-Rex, Triceratops, one of the spiky ones—and then just go to town brawling in these prehistoric arenas. The controls are simple, but there’s a bit of strategy too, like timing your charges or dodging at the right moment.

It’s not the deepest game, but the animations are surprisingly smooth for a DS title, and there’s something weirdly satisfying about watching dinosaurs chomp each other. The campaign’s short, but unlocking new dinos kept me going. If you ever wanted to settle who’d win in a fight between a Stegosaurus and a Velociraptor, this is your chance.
