Game Overview

BC Racers came out in 1994 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Core Design. It was a time when racing games were experimenting with more than just pure speed, often blending genres to stand out on the platform.

You control a caveman in a go-kart, racing against other prehistoric drivers across tracks set in jungles and volcanoes. The main goal is to finish first, but you can punch other riders to knock them off their bikes, clearing your path or slowing them down. A turbo button gives a temporary speed boost, though using it carelessly can lead to losing control. The game moves quickly, and the difficulty comes from both the aggressive AI and the narrow, hazard-filled tracks. It feels chaotic and silly, especially with a second player sharing the keyboard to handle driving and attacking separately.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
